Image Guidelines

Last updated: September 2025

At petprinties.com, we want your custom products to look their very best. To achieve the highest-quality print results, please follow these image upload guidelines when submitting your artwork, photos, or designs.

1. Image Quality Requirements

  • Resolution: Minimum 300 DPI (dots per inch) at print size
  • File Size: At least 2000 x 2000 pixels for most products
  • File Formats Accepted: JPG, PNG (preferred with transparent background), PDF
  • Color Mode: RGB (our printers automatically convert to CMYK)

⚠️ Low-resolution images may appear blurry, pixelated, or unclear when printed.

2. Design Safety Zone

  • Keep important elements (faces, logos, text) at least 0.25″ (6mm) away from edges
  • Allow for “bleed areas” — parts of the design may be trimmed during printing
  • Avoid placing text or key details near seams, zippers, or folds

3. Backgrounds & Transparency

  • PNG files with transparent backgrounds work best for designs you want printed without a solid box around them
  • For photos, ensure clean backgrounds or use high-contrast images for best results
  • Avoid extremely dark or very light designs that may not stand out on certain product colors

4. Content Restrictions

We cannot print or accept images that:

  • Contain copyrighted or trademarked material without permission
  • Include offensive, discriminatory, or illegal content
  • Violate third-party rights (logos, characters, brand names, etc.)

Uploads that don’t meet these standards may be rejected.

5. Color Expectations

  • Colors may look slightly different on screen versus the final product due to screen calibration and print process
  • For brand consistency, please provide HEX or RGB color codes if exact shades are required

6. Customer Responsibility

By uploading an image or design, you confirm that:

  • You own the rights or have permission to use the content
  • You understand that low-quality or non-compliant files may affect the final result
  • You accept that refunds or reprints cannot be offered for issues caused by poor-quality uploads

7. Tips for Best Results

  • Use sharp, high-contrast images with good lighting
  • Avoid screenshots or compressed social media images
  • Double-check spelling on text-based designs
  • Preview your mockup carefully before checkout
